8/7/2006 Hi , my name is Sandra Gutierrez, I am 52, I've been married for 23 yrs, and have 6 children & 9 grandchildren. I actually started my journey to WLS in June, but have just started on my profile. I do childcare for a living and the parents of one of my children have had WLS, that is why I became interested. The Mother had it 4 years ago, and has mantained, the Father had it in Feb 2006 and is doing great. I was a normal weight through my childhood & adolescence , married young to the wrong person, became pregnant, gained a lot of weight. Lost almost all of it, on WW and became pg again, gained a lot, took some off and became pg for the last time, in 1977. Then the yo-yo dieting started, and I gained & lost, and continued till my divorce in 1981. I then started working , lost weight, down to a size 12, and met the man of my dreams. Got married, became the Mother of three more children, and started to gain weight again. We had moved into a new house in Hemet, and my husband could only commute home for the weekends, for more than a year, till his transfer was approved. I hate to say it, but I cheated on him with Ben & Jerrys throughout the whole time, I was the good-time Mom who made candy bar runs, late at night, with all the kids. That's the quick background, now on to the present. Since then I've dieted myself up to 272lbs on a 5'5 frame. My back hurts, I can barely wash dishes or clean the house. I believe I have sleep Apnea, I have High BP (I take 3 meds. for it), stress incontinence. I can't play with my grandchildren the way I want to, I want to start living a real life. Carrying all this weight around at this age is way too difficult, and I want to enjoy my life with my DH & Family!! I’ve chosen this video , because I am giving my WLS and all it’s challenges up to Jesus, because I can’t do it on my own!!
