Hitting the play button and press on to hit goal weight
Aug 13, 2013
Well, it seem's I've been stuck with the same 25lbs now and not anywhere near my goal. To be fair, I hit the pause button on my program about 15 months ago, we went thru a major a transition and relocation including living in our 5th wheel for a summer off-grid and building a house, moving three times, started new schools. Getting settled on our country estate and rural land. It has been a very busy year.
We've finally settled and I'm getting back in the routine. In no particular order, here is what I have learned about my sleeve and my experience.
- My sleeve still works as good today as it did 8 months post op. If I eat protein first, I'm good for about 3 to 4 oz's before I'm full and have little room for anything else.
- I can easily maintain 900 to 1200 calories a day provided I follow the simple rules: Lean protein first, Drink 30 minutes after meal, five or six small meals a day.
- Logging or journaling is key
- Staying connected to the VSG community and reviewing everyone's successes and lessons learned is key
- Exercise is also key. I had ideas of competing in 5K's and mini triathlons but setting those goals seemed to create less motivation then just focusing in on the day to day process.
- I really need to focus on day to day process and not look at end goals so much.
Thanks for reading and feel free to look me up on my fitness pal or on this board.
