Introduction

I am a 52 yr old female . I live in Maryland . I decided to start the process of bariactic surgery . I have had my nutrition meetings & psych evaluation . Now just waiting for insurance to approve or disapprove the surgery .

I have been overweight most of my life . Kids teased me when I was in elementary school & Junior high  . My own family called me fat & I definitely never felt pretty . I grew up in South Mississippi . My home life was very turbulant . My dad was a raging alcoholic , so home never seemed like to be a safe place  . I think that's where I started stress eating & also the reason I eat at night . For comfort . I have spent most of my adult life working on becoming the person I want to be . One thing I want to be, is comfortable in my own body . I want to be able to get down on the floor with my grandchild & take her to the park & spoil her as a normal size person .

This is my introduction & I am proud of heading in the right direction.
