First NSV!!!
Apr 08, 2021
A lot of plus sized women may relate to this, I have a few sweaters in my closet that don't button up; I have them to wear over dresses for work or to cover up my arms. Well, just this past week, I wore a dress to work & decided to throw a sweater over top. As I'm putting it on, I said to myself "let's see if this thing buttons up." Not only did it button, but it buttoned ALL THE WAY UP!!!!! I've owned this sweater at least 5 years & have NEVER been able to fully button it up (maybe only the first two but they would always pop back open lol). Can't wait for more NSV's!!!!
First Post-Op Visit 3/25/2021
Mar 26, 2021
Officially down 30lbs!!!! I can't believe it!!! My family says they can see it in my face. I don't see it when I look in the mirror but I'm starting to feel it in my clothes. I put on a pair of leggings yesterday & they were BAGGY!!!!! And as if that's not exciting enough, my reflux is GONE; dare I say completely gone!!!!! I've had it once since my revision & it was right after surgery. I'm so excited to see where I go in my journey this time around
Post-Op: Day6
Mar 14, 2021
So much has happened since my revision surgery on 3/8/2021. What was supposed to only be a 2 hour surgery turned into a 4 1/2 hour surgery. Apparently, my liver & stomach were attached to each other; the first 2 1/2 hours of the surgery was just my doctor trying to separate them safely so that he could perform my revision. The nausea afterwards was horrible, probably a result of me being under anesthesia for so long. As of now, I'm home recovering & losing weight. I go for my first follow-up appointment next week, I'm excited to see what my doctor's scale has to say!
Pre-Op Diet: Day 4
Feb 25, 2021
This pre-op diet is not so bad this time around. Before (with a previous surgeon), I was only allowed sugar-free items & no milk with my protein powder; just water. This time (different surgeon), I'm allowed all non-starchy vegetables in addition to all of the sugar-free items & it's definitely made a difference in how I'm dealing with this diet. I started my revision process in August 2020; my stats are:
Height: 5'4 1/2
Starting weight: 292lbs (this is the ONLY place I will admit that LOL!!!)
Current weight: 275lbs (as of yesterday, Wednesday 2/24/2021)
Total weight lost so far: 17lbs
Not a HUGE number but the scale's going in the right direction so I'll take it!!
Pre-Op Diet: Day 1
Feb 22, 2021
Today I started my pre-op diet to prepare for my revision surgery. So far, so good; I'm excited & nervous. It's not like I haven't done this before but the nerves are still there. My emotions are all over the place though; I have a son who was born with a severe heart condition called HLHS. His cardiologist tells me the he needs to be scheduled for a procedure March 3rd with an overnight stay in the hospital, 5 days before my surgery. Of course, my son's needs ALWAYS come first & part of me feels bad for even thinking about doing anything for myself at this moment. My anxiety is on 1,000 right now. I've waited SO long for this but my son & the condition of his heart take priority over my needs/wants.
