Opti problem solved - I like it warm with chai tea - awesome!

Mar 24, 2017

day 3

I found a great way that I can enjoy Vanilla Opti!

so happy I am mixing half a package with warm water and then brewing herbal chai style tea and whisking it together.

it is a win-win

1-because I am freezing

2-because today I am hungry (only managed 1 Opti on day 1 and 2)

previous attempts were:

with sugar free French vanilla syrup (I could do it but I needed to keep adding ice - very disappointed because

with root beer (float style - it did not mix well with the carbonation and I gagged and went to bed hungry)

Optifast Day 1 - *yuck*

Mar 22, 2017

Ok, it is back to kindergarten and someone has just dared me to eat the glue - anybody else have this same flashback.

I tried the vanilla, 6 ice cubes, 300 ml of cold water whipped to death in a vitamix blender for 2 minutes.

OMG, I have 55 more sachets of this flavour to go!

I tried au natural for the first drink, left the house and off to work....nope, I should have turned around for some flavouring if some kind, blech, blah, ick.

I added decaf coffee, once halfway down the tumbler - at least the gummy, thick, dry, slop, feeling as it slid down my throats was gone but I swear I could still smell wallpaper - honestly yuck

how are you all surviving this?

give me you best flavour, slime killing thoughts/recipes, please!

Tomorrow is Optifast Day 1

Mar 21, 2017

So here we go, 6 boxes of Optifast sit on my dining room table. 4 Vanilla, 2 chocolate.

Beside it sit decaf coffee, lemons and a few extract flavours to try including: Maple, French Vanilla and Mint, and Crystal light drops pineapple/coconut and raspberry.

Cucumber and broccoli in the fridge.

Upon review of the literature, tomorrow I will go buy benefibre.

I am excited to start, my sister asked me what I wanted for my last meal. I am happy to say that, that mentality is not mine. Although to be fair I do remember in my teens and prior to starting a diet I must have eaten a dozen chocolate bars.

Perhaps that means I truly am ready! I sure hope so!

Perhaps this process of wait and wait, helps one prepare mentally.

Determination

Mar 18, 2017

So my job entails floating to different areas based on need.

Today it meant going to an area I had not worked for a couple of years. Most of it by choice because I do not like working with mean people.

Today I learnt mean people never change.

Maybe they thought they were helping but quoting Simon Cowell and telling me that "weight loss is simple, don't eat much" isn't nice, it isn't inspirational - well not at first. Let me clarify based on previous experience they have never seen me eat, I eat pretty healthy - but always in private.

It took another 10 hours of work before their cruel comment became my mantra and my determination to make this work, not so I can waltz in slim and confident not to accept their crap but so I can face my crap and get slim and confident.

I won't deny it, it hurt too, but it is now my fuel.

Last celebration before Optifast and Surgery.

I will never miss green beer yuck, but I will miss my Bailey's Irish Cream - one last toast!

Cheers.

Surgery Date Set!

Mar 16, 2017

So here we go, I met the surgeon in December, Social Work and Dietician in February, and I got a call two days ago to pick up my Optifast and to book my surgery for April 12th.

A little nervous, a lot terrified.
