The Final Girl: Starting My New Chapter

Jul 13, 2026

They say the horror movie always ends the same way: with the final girl standing tall, having survived the impossible. For the past several years, my life has felt like a horror story I couldn't escape. At 500 lbs, every day has been a battle for survival, a constant struggle against a weight that felt like it was stealing my life away one day at a time.

But I’m done being a victim of my circumstances. I am ready to be the survivor.

I am currently on the doorstep of weight loss surgery. This isn't just about a medical procedure; it is my ticket to a second chance at life. I’ve spent so much time feeling stuck in the dark, watching the world move forward while I was held back by the weight of my past. That ends now.

Why I’m starting this blog:

Accountability: I want to track my progress, the hurdles, and the victories, no matter how small.

Honesty: I want to document the reality of this process—not just the highlight reel, but the grit it takes to change your life.

Community: I know I’m not the only one fighting this battle. If my journey can offer even a shred of hope to someone else who feels trapped, then this has all been worth it.

I am terrified, I am nervous, but most importantly, I am ready. I am ready to stop fighting for my life and start living it. I’m ready to rewrite the ending of this story.

Thank you for being here with me as I start my journey to becoming the final girl. This is where the sequel begins.
