2n fill coming up!

December 15th I have my second fill and I am so looking forward to it! I am stuck at 28 pounds and eating too much right now. It seems like my restriction only lasted a couple days after my 1st fill and I hope the second fill goes better. I have also had sinus surgery and need to get back to walking again....this would probably help with the weight loss!
First Fill!

I had my first fill yesterday, 10-21-08. I got 7 (not sure if it is ccs or mls) of fluid in the band and I found out I have an AP lapband large. So far, so good. I could feel the fill and had a little bit of reflux immediately afterwards, but I was able to drink a cup of water before I left without any trouble. This morning, I feel fine. I can definitely tell a difference. I am not at all hungry, sort of like right after surgery, the same sensation of being full. I go back in another six weeks to see if I need another fill. I sure hope this one will last that long...
Had Surgery on the 10th of Sept!

I had my surgery on Sept. 10th. Yea! My hospital stay at Mt. Carmel was really very nice. I had two nurses who had bariatric surgery and had lost over 150 pounds a piece so it was really cool talking to them and who better to care for you... My first day home was pretty much a blur thanks to percocet and just being tired and weak from not eating since the previous Tues morning.
Friday and Saturday, things started feeling better. I still have gas though and that is not pleasant. All in all, I would say that the gas is the worst part of the surgery. I also have this weird hunger sensation deep in my belly, but I am only able to drink a half cup of fluid and I feel like a sock is in my chest. I suppose there is still a lot of swelling going on. So far, each day does get better and my weight is down 8 pounds from my surgery date, 4 days ago. YEA! Although I am allowng myself one year to get the 100 pounds off that I need to get off. I am looking forward to this journey.

Sept 10th is my surgery date!!! I have an app. to see Dr. Choban again on Sept. 2nd and my pre-admission testing is this coming thurs., 08-28.... Finally we are moving along now!!

Yea! I had my NUT app. yesterday with Mt. Carmel. I now go back in two weeks, 8-7-08, for my two hour post-op session with the NUT. I am so excited that things are finally moving along. I hope to have my surgery date very soon!
Lap band is finally in my future!

I finally sent along my Mt. Carmel paperwork yesterday and thngs should be moving along faster now. I went through OSUs bariatric program, but was not too impressed with their surgeons so when my insurance started covering Mt. Carmel, I jumped at the change to have Dr. Choban. I started this process in March 2007. It has been a long, hard road. I am so glad it will be ending soon. I am both excited and scarred to have surgery, I think it is just because of all the anticipation for the last many months.
