Hello! I'm new here. I'm familiar with Obesityhelp.com but just decided to join today in hopes of finding some helpful information regarding bariatric surgery.
I have struggled with my weight as long as I can remember. My mother was always putting me on one diet or another. At the age of 13, she started giving me diet pills. I know she was always conscious about her weight and didn't like having a fat daughter. All of my other siblings were very slender as were both of my parents. I always felt "wrong".
I'm in the process of getting approved for my surgery. My insurance requires 6 months of medical weight-loss visits with my pcp, and to be honest, I'm sucking at it. I wad doing pretty good at the beginning, eating right and exercising, then I got an infection in my leg (cellulitis) and couldn't exercise. It's been 2 weeks. I'm trying to stay on track with my diet but I know it's tougher without exercise. I love walking and don't have a problem doing that so I'm hoping to get back to it this week. I have two more monthly weigh-in's with my pcp and then my bariatric team will send the paperwork to my insurance. I am so ready to get this surgery.
