For those of you who don't know...
May 01, 2008
On another note, Casey is living back at home with me for the time being. His plans are to get back into school full time in the fall and we are all thinking positive about that. His new shrink seems to be working out well and is approaching his treatment in a way that has not been tried before so we're expecting good results.
I've been at war with food for a little while and losing some of the battles. But I've got a plan in place and I will win this war. I'm getting back on track and have lost two pounds this week. So yeah me!!
It's been a while...

since I've posted on here and things in my life are going quite well. Tiger has adapted very nicely to life at my house. There is a special someone who wants to spend a lot of time with me and with whom I'm quite infatuated. I still have about 10 lbs to lose but that seems to be a battle that is going to go on long term.
Short and sweet, just wanted to make an entry and give a very quick update.

I'm not obsessing...

Meet my new family member
Feb 21, 2007
I would like you all to meet Tiger, see pictures at left. She is a three year old Great Dane who was surrendered to a local shelter when her former owners wouldn't take care of her. She's in kinda bad shape right now but with the proper food, shelter, and love, she's going to be just fine. She is desperately underweight (about 80 lbs, should be 110) and is recovering from a partially embedded collar and numerous pressure sores (from being left in a concrete run). I saw her and she came right over to me and started leaning against me, at that moment, I knew it was fate that we were to be together.

I have to say that I'm thankful for the friendships I've cultivated through this web community. Felicia, Kellee, Sassy Kathy, Darlene, Kathy Newton, Ron, Annie, there are far too many of you to list individually. Please know that you all have enriched my life in many different ways.
Believe it or not, I'm thankful for the men that have come in and out of my life this year. They have each brought something different but they have all helped me to grow. I'm particularly thankful to Mark for bringing an extra measure of joy to my spring and summer this year. And to Nathan and Paul for the fabulous sex. To Ronnie, I think I've actually gained the most insight to myself from my experiences with him and some feedback from Freida. Maybe next year will be when I find the one who will want to stay around for a while.
And, eventhough I know she won't see this, I have to acknowledge my friend Elfreida. She has been there for me through all the nights I spent crying over the men. She keeps me active by being my walking buddy. She's my designated driver when we go to the bar, cause you know I get completely polluted after the first swallow (benefit of WLS?). She's been my mentor, my confidant, my drill sargent, my friend. I am very greatful that she is in my life.
Okay, before I get too sentimental, I'm going to end this post. 2005 was a great year, 2006 has been even better. I see a trend that has been a long time in coming, here's to an even greater year in 2007.

Felicia is the best hostest, she planned the best places and people to meet. And she was very gracious to open her home to us wackos who kept her up all night long.
Kellee is such a sweet girl, if we could just get her to come out of her shell :-). But seriously, can we put the camera down for just one minute... I kid because I care.
Kathy L. is a very pretty girl, we need to convince her to come out and play more.
I can't wait for the next get together.

I'm getting excited about the Maryland trip coming up very soon. It will be a great birthday present to myself. (hint, hint: my birthday is the day before we all get there)
See you all (at least those of you who can be there) soon.
