Kara, congratulations on your upcoming surgery. May peace and love surround you on your journey and carry you along safely. Remember to drink your water, take your vitamins, walk daily and most importantly, be gentle with yourself along the way. Lastly, don't forget to stop by occasionally and update your profile. As you know, our profiles provide a lifeline to others embarking on this journey. You never know who you might inspire!

Debbie, Sorry to hear you can't have the RNY like you wanted, but at least you can have the VBG. I had the VBG done on Feb. 11th and I have not had any problems. Don't worry everything will work out. Just so you know I'm a single mom with two children and 9 days after I had the VBG I had knee surgery on my right knee. No one was there to help me and I made it through just fine. Put your faith in God and everything will work out. Good Luck. Elva

Kara, I know you've waited a long time for what will soon be right there in front of you. Marisa and I are praying that all goes well with your test tomorrow and May 17th will be here before you know it!!!! You have certainly been one of my big supporters before and after my surgery, and I intend to be there for you as well. Hi Kara I know exactly where you are coming from. I quit smoking in October and last night, at my "Last Girls Night Out" I had 2. Now I'm wondering if they will show up in the major bloodwork I will be having on May 8. I know that my Dr will NOT operate on someone who is smoking. He has canceled surgery before just for this reason. I also seem to have been stuffing everything I can think of into my face since I found out my surgery had been bumped up from September to May 16th, and I have to see the dietician and be weighed again on the 8th aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa scary thought. So, although I don't have any words of wisdom for you, I can comiserate, and at least let you know that you are not the only one. Kara, I have the same Christmas hanger that you do (behind you in your picture.) I got it at Target at Pheasant Lane Mall! You are a beautiful woman now so I can't imagine what a looker you'll be in 12 months!! Take care, Maribeth
