I had my surgery on Dec. 30, 2002. Everything went ok until I was released. I developed a infection where my drain hole was. I went to emergency and he lanced it and then packed it. Now I have nurses coming out to my house to clean and pack the wound. I was also in the hospital for a while a week after I got out. I now go to the Dr. every Thursdayand here it is Feb. 07. But things are looking up again {I hope}. Today is my 45th birthday and I am 37 lbs lighter. Even with the problems I have had I am glad I went thru with the surgery. Dania Binion

I came home Friday evening from the hospital. I am having problems with sleeping, its 4am before I get to sleep and I am awake around 8am. First I thought it was because I wasn't in my own bed, put that wasn't it. Does anyone have any ideals about what to eat when you are on liquid diet. I am so tired of jello and pudding and cream soups.(I know I am out of luck). It isn't I am hungry it is I just want some flavor when I do eat. I am really happy to be home. Monday will be a week out and I have lost 23 lbs. Thats counting from the day I decided to do this surgery. My one problem is also not smoking, its been a week sence that also. Dania

well people this is from James. I am Danias husband. she had the surgery today. it started at 1130 am and was completed at 300 pm. she did very well during surgery. after coming to her room after recovery she said she hurt like hell but was ready forthe weight loss. she wasnt hurting when i came home thanks to my relief hitter my mother-in-law. i will be spending new years night with her. oh by the way she wasnt hurting due to the good stuff morpine and she told me to tell everyone of you hi and to pray for her. Thank you all for being so supportive and giving her the chance for a positive outlook . Yours truly James

I am fixing to be leaving for the hospital. I am nervous and anxious all at the same time. My husband or daughter will post later today on how I did. Just think I am fixing to be on the losing side and in a very special group of people. Dania
