I had my open RNY procedure 12-18-02 and everything went well. I did have a reaction to the Lidocaine and I couln't breathe, move, or tell them what was going on, it was very frightening! When I woke up in recovery, my left shoulder blade was the worst pain I had at that time. It's been 8 weeks now and I have lost 30 pounds-I wish it were more, but I've had the flu, and now I'm have pain again like in the hospital. I've called the WISH office for the severe nausea and abd pain, and meds were prescribed. Today I called because the pain is getting worse, so I started on 2 new prescriptions. Hopefully these will take care of it. I need to get back to work, but I can't function with this pain, so they are being real cool about my coming back to work.
