Karen, You probably don't remember me, you had once responded to something I posted on the message board prior to my surgery, had to be back in March or early April- anywhoos, I am so sorry you are experiencing this, hopefully, it's just some swelling there. Wishing you the best of luck, you deserve it~

Hello AMOS Family... Yesterday, I was 4 months post-op and lots of great things have happened since my surgery. I used to take 4 different medications...Now, I take NONE! I used to have a BMI of 40.7...Now, it's 30.9! I used to weigh 265...Now, I weigh 203. I am 5'8" Total loss= 62 lbs. and that is 50% of my excess weight lost! WOOHOO! My personal goal is to get to 140 lbs. and I am half way there in 4 months...I am very happy! I feel alive now. I am not just sitting and watching the world go by...I am finally LIVING my life again! I have gone from a 3X top and 24 pants to a 1X top and 14-16 stretch jeans. I have a big pannus, so I can't wear the zipper type jeans yet! For those who want to know, I don't restrict my carbs too much and I occasionally will have a cookie or 2. I do eat LESS of simple carbs than other food, but I still eat them...except bread...doesn't agree with me. I pretty much eat whatever I want except fast food, fried food, excess sugar and snack type foods(like chips). If I had to guess, I would say I can eat about 1 Cup of food now. About 1/2 sandwich. I also exercise 3-4X/week. I try as best I can to get my protein through food...shrimp is a good way (for me) Also, cottage cheese. I will have the occasional protein drink...Isopure Zero Carb Vanilla mixed w/ skim milk and Nestles SF Quik...pretty darn good! I have been taking a Multi-vitamin from Wal-Mart which is made especially for people who have a hard time swallowing pills. It is smaller than an M&M... I also take an extra Iron pill as I have always had low iron. God Bless all of you who are pursuing this dream of health and wellness and also those of you who are already post-op.

Karen - you are a real inspiration. My surgery is on Monday and I have been spending the day looking at post-op success stories. Thanks for sharing and way to go!
