HELLO EVERYONE, THIS IS CHRISTI, SHIRLEY'S DAUGHTER. FIRST THINGS FIRST, SHE IS DOING INCREDIBLY WELL!!!!I WAS EXTREMELY SKEPTICAL ABOUT THIS SURGERY AND WAS QUITE DISCOURAGING OUT OF FEAR. I MUST SAY THOUGH THAT AFTERD READING THE MESSAGE BOARD TONIGHT, I FELT TWO THINGS....GUILTY AND GREATFUL.THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR BELEIVING IN THIS DPROCEDURE, MY MOM, AND A NEW WAY OF LIVING.YOUR SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT HAVE SUSTAINED MY MOTHER ALONG WITH HER UNWAVERING DETERMINATION AND DESIRE TO BE BETTER AND HEALTHIER, WHEN I WAS ANYTHING BUT ENCOURAGING. I AM THRILLED TO SAY THAT SHE IS RECOVERING LIKE A CHAMP. SHE HAD HER SURGERY ON MONDAY MORNING AND WAS IN RECOVERY IN AN HOUR AND 20 MINUTES. HER GI WAS GOOD TODAY AND SHE NURSED POPSICLES, JELLO, BROTH AND CRYSTAL LIGHT THROUGHOUT THE DAY. SHE IS USING THE BATHROOM NORMALLY AND FREQUEUNTLY AND SITTING UP IN A CHAIR MOST OF THE TIME. SHE IS WALKING LAPS AROUND HER WARD EVERY 1-2 HOURS AND GRIPING AT ME AND MY BROTHER OFTEN.SHE IS SCHEDULED TO BE RELEASED TOMMOROW, BUT WE WILL STAY IN FT. LAUDERDALE ON MORE NIGHT JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE BEFORE RETURNING TO TAMPA. I AM EXHAUSTED AND GOING TO BED, BUT I PROMISED HER I WOULD SAY HELLO AND LET EVERYONE KNOW HOW WELL SHE IS DOING. SHE IS ANXIOUS TO POST SO I'M SURE YOU WILL HEAR FROM HER TOMMOROW. THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN FOR ALL OF YOUR WISDOM, INSIGHT, PRAYERS AND SUPPORT AND PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR US AS OUR JOURNEY CONTINUES.SO FAR.....SO GOOD - CHRISTI

Just a few kind words of encouragment. You are in my prayers. Not only are you saving your life but you are being born again. You now have another chance in life to make yourself what you have always wanted to be. May God be in surgery with you and guide the doctors hands during surgery.
