Thank you Linda. I had knee surgery back then and was recovering. Then after that I had knee troubles but they can't see any reason for it. My personal life was in a turmoil as well. My mother was sick and we lost her Feb 14 2004. I kept researching the wls though and all my options. Only thing going to be the problem now would be my knee. I'm not worried about my husband being supportive or not. It is ultimately up to me no matter what. I have support from my brother and from my freinds. With my knee popping out on me it's a pain in the wazoo walking at times but as long as i go at my own pace things should be fine. good luck to you :):) vivian

I think he just needs a little reassurance that you love him and aren't going anywhere.May you have a blessed surgery. Stay encouraged, you will be on the healthier and brighter side sooon Much Love Wls sista sonia

Tahnk you for the supporting words and confidence!!! It is good to know that there are some out there that won't hvae as much support as they need or should have...I've told some more family about my wls decision and they are for me to get it and they've said they will be right there for me no matter if my husband is not and i know my kids will be there as well. I should have psoted something sooner but i had to think a while how to putit all into words.... thank you again!!

Vivian, Your husband may not be supportive now but when it comes closer to the time of the surgery or even right after he may change his point of view especially when he sees your commitment to it and how you lose after. I am having surgery hopefully beginning of 2004 and I have very little support. I am a single mother (2 daughters) with very few family members most of them not living in this state.. and one close friend that I know will be there. Be strong... pray...and take it day by day... you will make it.

Hey Vivian ~ I hear ya! My husband hasn't been the most supportive of this surgey but I just decided that I was going to do it. I had been mucking around for the last 3 years trying to do it his way (diet, push away from the table, excercise more) and while I lost about 100 lbs. (usually 10 lbs. here and then they came back with 5 of their friends) I refuse to do it anymore. I don't have a date yet buy hope to be carved before the turkey this year! HA!! Best of luck to you and keep posting!
