Thanks Annie!!! That was an amazing speech, I'm sure that now alot of those who heard your speech will think twice before making a rude comment.

That speech you did was absolutely wonderful! In fact . . .I passed it on to my sis who's againist my having this surgery. She gave me some comments which I shared with the board (thru my profile) and I passed on my amos siblings' responses to her. Well . . . this morning she calls me from work (she's an RN/recovery rm), and said you know what, I had a patient this morning who had that surgery a year ago . . . she looks and feels wonderful! Maybe, just maybe with your help, and all the other wonderful people here, I'm helping her to see my side of things! Thanks again, Linda

Annie: I hope you'll be able to post your speech sometime. I would so love to hear it! Congratulations on the great job and on being so persuasive that you turned around somebody's thinking. That is awesome, and very difficult to do, even for a very seasoned speaker. I'm sure they felt the passion you have for the subject. Bless you, and please post your speech if you're able!

I'd love it if when you're able to get a copy of that speech . . . just to pass on to my sister who hadn't a clue what we go thru. My worst experience? I was about 17 and had applied for a part time job at what was then 'THE PHONE COMPANY' (back around 1971) . . . I was fat, but neat and well groomed. I went for the interview, right there in the office the interviewer pulled out a bathroom scale and put me on it. Wouldn't even continue the interview. Told me I was too fat to work for Ma Bell and to come back when I'd lost some weight. Nice thing to do to a 17 year old kid, huh? Did wonders for my self-confidence.
