Hello everyone, 1 week post op here....I know it has taken awhile but the hospital stay was more than I thought it would be and to tell you the truth, I am very tired and still quite sore. the surgery itself went fine...it did take longer that usual, I guess my spline decided to some bleeding as well, but they got the under control....the day after my surgery I go a fever,,which would not go away, I was up walking, drinking my fluids and so on.. I was having a lot of trouble breathing...they took some cat skans and it seemed that I had an infection in the bottom of my left lung...i was also low on my blood count so they were looking into a blood transfusion, which didnt have to happen thank god......I was released on the 5th night. I am home now, I am feeling a little betterm but walking is difficult right now, not because oif the pain, but because of the breathing. I go back to St. Louis tomorrow to have my drainage tube taken out....If you would like a more in depth posting of my surgery, visit my site at http://www.homestead.com/wls4me/home.html I will be updaying very soon with surgery photos and my incisions.....Thank you everyone for your kind emails!

Holly -- I hope you're feeling better today. Dr. Eagon did my surgery Jan 11 and I'm doing great so you're in very good hands. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello everyone....I just wanted to post before I began my journey on "crossing over". I leave tomorrow for St. Louis. It is about a 3 hour drive, so I definitely need to be there the night before. I am a little nervous, but I still know that this is my last chance. Whatever risks I take, if I succeed, they will all be worth it. I had someone tell me today that I was taking an easy way out, and what I was doing was stupid. The person of course was thin. I think people talk this way because they are not educated on what this surgery is really all about, because if they were, they wouldnt dare utter those words. Thank God for websites like this who bring a bunch of great people together for education and support!-My angel ( my sister ) will update as soon as possible....Soon to be joining the gang on the otherside, Holly
