Hi all! Thank you so much for your lovely letters, comments, prayers and overall good vibes! I am sorry I couldn't write earlier. I was very tired and didn't get a break at all once I was home. Baby-sat my 2 yr old granddaughter, just 2 weeks after surgery! What a journey!!! I am now 3 weeks post-op. I saw Dr. Schrock yesterday and I am down 25 lbs! I am so happy! I had an overall good experience with Dr. Schrock and Sacred Heart...and I'll talk about that at length, later. But, one thing went VERY wrong. The NG tube caused a pressure sore on my nose and it actually ate away part of my nostril. It isn't very pretty. Dr. Schrock was PISSED! He gave me the number to call at Sacred Heart to get this resolved. He said I should call them today and let them know what has happened...but before doing anything about it, I should let it heal another month. Still, it will require plastic surgery, which is something I am NOT looking forward to. As far as the bypass goes...all went well. I am getting in all of my protien already, and I am still on a blenderized diet. I have invented a couple of receipes that I will share later and discovered a sourceof high protien that they DON'T tell you about in their books! Anyway, I am alive and well and feeling good. Since I have the heart thing, I will have to start slow on the exercise...just the treadmill for now. Heck! The grandkid had me practically doing aerobics! She's a firecracker! Once again...thanks everyone...and thanks for the e-mails, too! I WILL respond. I just need time. It seems I am behind on everything. Sincerely, Carolyn
