Hi Candace, I just read your profile and was shocked to know that there was someone else in this world whom can relate to what I was experiencing. I'm also a very very slow loser. I had my Lap RNY WLS on 3/27/03 (9 1/2 months) and have only lost 74lbs. The day of surgery I weighed in at 341 and today I'm 267lbs. I get so disappointed but I truly to not compare myself but it's so hard when others have lost 100-125lbs already and I've not even made it to 90lbs which would of been 10lbs a month. Sometimes I hit a plateau of 3-4 weeks and then I'll only lose 3-5lbs. I know that I went into this surgery with lots and lots of prayer and fasting. I know that the Lord has not brought me all this way to leave me. I actually very thankful that I came out of this surgery with NO complications. I'm very healthy and all of my labs have came back really good. I'm reaching out to you because my surgeon has relocated to Maryland and we no longer have support group meetings at the hospital since he left. I'm reaching out to other post-op patients whom can relate to what I'm going through. I exercise 5-6 days a week. I drink over 64ozs of water daily. I take my vitamins faithfully and I get in about 80-90gms of protein but I just don't understand why I'm such a slow loser. What do you do daily for protein and exercise? Any advice is truly grateful. Many Blessings, Marilyn Lexington, KY 341/267/175 3/27/03 (-74lbs)

Hi~~ Just wanted to wish you ALL the best with your upcoming surgery. I'm 5 days post op and know the first couple of days are gonna be rough on you....in fact up until Saturday morning in the hospital, I couldn't believe I'd put myself thru such hell (nose tube, IV, etc). The soreness hasn't been a big issue for me yet---liquid or crushed ibuprofen seems to be working ok. My advice for anyone after surgery: as soon as the doc/nurses give you leave to walk, do as much of it as possible. It'll get you home quicker. Lord bless you and keep you as safe & comforable as possible.
