Hi everyone, Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who wrote with their thoughts and prayers and good wishes for me. Well the "BIG" day has come and gone and I made it through. I'm a VERY unhappy camper but I'm here. I want to LIE down. When does that happen? My sister rented me a power recliner but I don't like it much. I find myself walking around the house for hours. Oh the pain..... Spent Sunday in the ER. Can't seem to make myself drink like I should. I was dehydrated, and needed 2 bags of IV fluids. Surgery was Tuesday the 25th came home Friday, guess I wasn't drinking that great in the hospital either. They should have left the IV in longer. I won't even go into my hospital stay, I'll wait till I'm feeling up to talking about it. Right now I would love some advice on getting COMFORTABLE!!!!!!

Hi Debbie! Congrats on having your surgery! I bet you feel relieved now. It's over and now you are on the other side and can join the ranks of the losers. Welcome, my friend!!! Happy RE-Birthday to you! From this day forward you life will change forever. Just try to take it easy and remember to sip, walk, deep breathe and cough. These first few days are rough, but I assure you they get better with each passing day. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayers for an uncomplicated, swift recovery. You are an official loser!! Wishing you much success in your weight-loss journey. Soft hugs to you today. God bless, DI from NJ - Lap RNY, 12/09/03

Hi Debbie, I'd say don't be nervous but heck, I was. Of course it was for nothing (except I burned a few extra calories) because my surgery went fine. For me, the week before surgery was harder than the week after just because of the unknown. Right after surgery I was more sore than in pain; nothing that couldn't be handled. Keep it positive. That includes only positive people around you. The negative ones are just ill-informed and will sap your confidence. My best wishes and I hope all your health and weight-loss dreams come true,

Best of luck with your surgery. I will have ya in my prayers for a painfree and speedy recovery. ****Loving Father, I entrust my AMOS friend to your care this day; guide with wisdom and skill the minds and hands of the medical people who minister in your Name, and grant that every cause of illness be removed, I may be restored to soundness of health and learn to live in more perfect harmony with you and with those around them. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.*** ~~T
