8/7/00 I thought I would post an update, since I haven't in a while. Today is 6 weeks post-op for me and I have lost about 33 pounds. I can tell where I have lost and other people are starting to notice, which is really nice. I am still having trouble in the eating department. I still have to get use to taking small bites and chewing everything really well. It is definately an adjustment!! I am trying to drink more water every day, but since I can't take big drinks, it is harder to get 8 glasses in every day!! Other than that, I am doing good. I am going to get information and go to a support group in my area, I am sure that will help. Who knows, I may even meet someone from here at the group. My next appointment is November 10. If I don't post before then, I will after my appointment!! Good Luck to everyone!!

Hi Jaime, So glad you're feeling better with each new day. My RNY is on July 31,2000. I'm wondering how I'll do with the "pureed" diet for a whole month. I'm not that creative. Oh, well, the rewards will be worth it!!

7/6/00 Well, I am finally post-op! I had my surgery 10 days ago. I am feeling pretty good as far as the incision goes. I am having a hard time with the liquid diet, but I keep telling myself that it is only for a couple more weeks. It is harder than I thought it would be though!! I know I have already lost weight, but I am unsure how much because I haven't been back to my doctor's yet for an official weigh-in. I will post it when I know!! Not much more going on except that I am feeling better every day and look forward to being off the liquid diet! :) Jamie

Hi, Jamie. Just wanted to wish you luck and tell you that you'll be in my prayers tomorrow. I had my surgery back on May 8th and I'm doing terrific. I wasn't nervous either. I put my faith and my fate in God's hands. Could I be any safer? See you on the other side. Love, Nancy G.

6/25/00 Just wanted to update. My surgery has been moved up to 6/26/00, which is tomorrow!!! I am really excited and not scared at all for some reason. I went for my pre-op testing and everything went smoothly. They do a wonderful job when you go in for the pre-op testing, they keep you moving right along and you don't have to wait long at all. Well, I will keep you posted!!
