"Dr. Mari is very nice. Doesn't feel prescription diet meds is for everyone, hesistant to give, requires monthly check up for diet meds. His office staff are not always pleasant or understanding."

My uncle had gastric bypass with Dr. Thoburn several years ago, and is doing well, and has a good report for this doctor. I am hoping Dr. Thoburn will be around if my insurance ever decides to lift the exclusions from their policy."
"Office staff ranges ok to poor. Nurse left door open to waiting room while I was weighed in front of people waiting. Patient answers personal questions from nurse rather than allowing patient to answer personal questions. Questions are limited (not much history asked.) Waiting room and office chairs are not suitable for plus size patients. Scale was up against the wall and counter so you have to lean to get weighed (in front of everyone). Doctor was upbeat, friendly. Did not ask many questions. I didn't feel open to discuss weight matters. Don't know if I can return to this office. I do realize that this was my 1st impression, and personal experience from this doctor. I was actually referred to doc by a friend who is quite happy with him."
"Though the doctor did listen to me, while in the office, doctor neglected to do anything more than listen to my heart, look in my ears, and do a sales pitch for his vitamin & diet products in the office that are $160+ a month. He did suggest that I integrate them with my choice of South Beach or Atkins book diets. I do realize that this was my 1st impression, and personal experience from this doctor.
