Hi everyone!
I had a great appointment with Dr. Patterson today! First of all I am down another 7.5 pounds from my last pcps appointment 2 weeks ago! But that depends on which scale you believe!
We decided that we are going to try for the Adjustable Lap Band. It will be done laproscopically. She saw no reason why she could not go through the Kevlar to do it. Another reason why we are going with this one is that it is only an hour or possibly two in the OR and that makes the risk of complications far less for me!
Mitch got to ask her the questions that have been on his mind and she took the time to answer him. All that I have left to do now is to have the sleep study and have an EKG but other than that I am good to go. As soon as she gets those back she will submit it to my insurance company, CIGNA PPO. We do now that it is not on the excluded procedures list so we will have to see.
One really good point is that I will not have to do the tubey thing that patients who have had other procedures have had to since I do not have a history of heartburn or reflux.
So I am thrilled. I just have to get the last two things done and try to lose 25 pounds before surgery. So it is off to sleep study and then on to the support group on the 20th!
Thank you all for being there for me. I will keep you all posted as we get closer and I learn more.
God Bless you all!
