Don't be afraid of getting the stricture fixed. I developed one about 6 weeks post op. It had closed off so much that my saliva wouldn't even go down. I had it fixed the following day because of the severity of it. Everything is fine now. I am 7 months post op and everything is wonderful. They will give you pain meds so you will hardly feel a thing it you do feel anything. good luck kristi-ky

Hi Diana, Please do not be nervous about the stricture. I am a 2 year and 2 month post op who had to have three procedures to open my stricture. It came back three times which they had told me is normal and like you each time it was not fun. I vomited for days also and could not even keep water down because nothing could get past the closure. I want to tell you that you will be fine. The procedure itself does not hurt and afterwards you will feel so much better. I know how scary it is but remember this is not a permanent condition and it is treatable and fixable. It is usually fixed permanently the first time you have the stricture opened but sometimes it can come back and if this happens it is normal. I will say a prayer for you today to ease your discomfort and pain. Just remember to relax and keep telling yourself this is not permanent and it is fixable and concentrate on how much better you feel once they open the stricture. Take care!

Hi everybody! I am afraid I have a bit of discouraging news about my angelette Lynn Lang. She found out that she probably has a stricture and is bummed because she has to go get scoped tomorrow in the AM. She is overwhelmed first of all because she has been vomitting for the last 11 days and at least 3 times a day and is now concerned over this procedure she has to go through to fix it all. I know she will do fine, and that after the scoping she will feel so much better, but please encourage her if you have a spare moment. She has been a real trooper through it all, but some days it just takes its toll. Thanks in advance for all of your kindness and compassion. Angel Allie

Angel reporting for duty! I just wanted to let you all know that Lynn is now 11 days post op and doing great. She had her best day since surgery today!! I am so happy for her. She did have a couple of trouble spots but she is one tough cookie and is breaking through any barriers she encounters. I am so happy for and proud of her. I know she has already lost 15 pounds (at least) the report of the 15 was a couple of days ago, but how cool huh? WOOOO-HOOOOO!!! ANyways, she rocks and is doing so great. If you have the chance stop by her page and give her some encouraging words and support it would be wonderful! Your kindness means so much to all of us! You go Lynn! You are doing terriffic! HUGS!!!!

Hey Lynn! I just spoke with Danny again and he let me know that you did get home on Thursday and that you were doing well. He said that you were very sore, but resting and taking in your liquids. I wish that I could come over to see you, but I've still got this cold and I wouldn't even dream of getting anywhere near you until I'm better! Can't wait to get the update from you on how things went!! I'm praying for a speedy recovery for you! Take care of you!! I'll call again this weekend. Lots of love, hugs and prayers! Laurie

11-12-02 Well, hey there again. I can't figure out where I'm supposed to write this, so I'm going to write it here and on her page. Argh! So very confusing! Oh well! Here I go! Her surgery was on the 11th, and it went GREAT! We're all so excited for her! She was up and walking when we left San Diego earlier today. I'm amazed that she's doing so well. I talked to her when I got home and she said that the nurses said that she will probably be able to go home on Thursday, which is wonderful. I can't wait to get her back home!
