My thoughts are with you for a safe surgery and a speedy recovery, you have been given a chance to make yourself healthy, and I truely believe that God has lead us all to this website, so that we know we are not alone. I have told my family, that if I do not make it from the surgery, that this is what I wanted, it was my choice, all my co-mobilies were not my choice, and God knows that, God Bless and best wishes. You are in good hands, and you will be fine, and all your friends here at AMOS are sending our prayers with you on your journey.

Sheila, I feel the exact same way. It is incredibly hard to make this choice when you have little children. I received a call from my insurance today, saying they got all the paper work and that they will start processing it now. I was almost disappointed. It would be so much easier if they refused to process it, or said I didn't qualify or something of that nature. As it stand I still have to make the decision to do it or not. Prayres do help, and like you I believe strongly in the guidance you can get through prayer. I just have to keep remembering the statistics that 1 in 180 obese people wil die this year from their obesity, and 1 in 500 will die from WLS. Like you though, my BMI is relatively low, and I doubt I would be one of the 180 (I have low BP, low cholesterol, healthy heart, not diabetic, etc) but could very well be one of the 500. I wish you luck, Sheila. My prayers are with you, and would appreciate the same.

I am really nervous about having this surgery, however I feel that God will direct my path and give me assurrance if this is what I am to do with my life. I am asking that everyone that reads this please pray that God will give me a clear answer to have or not to have the surgery. I have two children and sometimes thinking about an ELECTIVE surgery does concern me. However, if I don't get my weight off I am not going to be able to have a very productive life with my children and husband. Thanks for your prayres in advance!!!
