Patricia, I wouldnt recommend stopping your medication without notifying your psych. As you know some medications can do more harm if stopped abruptly. Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone looses at different intervals and think posititve you will succeed this time. like I tell my son repeat this over and over to yourself....... I THINK I CAN.....I THINK I CAN..... I THINK I CAN...... Take Care, Tamara

Patricia, I was reading your post today. I am so very sorry that you are having such a hard time. Just remember you DID get that weight off and that is wonderful! Try not to lose sight of that. You are successful and I know that even with the set backs you will continue to be successful.. You can do it!!! When I feel depressed and think to myself "I hate me" I work really hard to turn it around and tell myself " i like me" over and over again until I talk myself into it. This is a quote from my grandmothers favorite book she gave me as a gift. "But if in your thought you must measure time into seasons, let each season encircle all the other seasons, and let today embrace the past with remembrance and the future with longing" (Kahil Gibran)....YOU CAN DO IT, YOU WILL OVERCOME!

Hello Patricia~~~~~~~First of all DO NOT compare yourself to your new friend and please DO NOT do as she is. She vomits and has diarrhea because of the sweets she eats! Most of the successful losers eat protein first at every meal. Then vegies, then fruit. Usually very little to no carbs. Please try this regimen, increase your exercise and water intake. Diet drinks are OK but water is your bodies best friend. Vary your exercise routines. The body gets used to one type of movememnt and unless you somehow boost the the movement with weights or something the exercise no longer works. Read profiles, ask questions, reach out to some of the successful losers on here. I wish you the best and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God be with you. PEACE

Hi Patti... I know you said no one need reply, but I just wanted to tell you that I too have suffered from significant Depression and the medications do make it very difficult to loose weight. Try to find something that can "meet your needs", because I know when you are really feeling depressed, that is VERY hard to do. You ahve lots of courage..enoough to go through the surgery and battle to get your life back. It'll happen..just keep trying!!! And SUNESHINE..always makes me better.... Sending you lots of happy thpughts ~~~ Leslie

Hey there Patti, sweetie, be kind to yourself! Pick a non-food thing and just pamper yourself, we all get blue from time to time. Your body has a lot of adjusting to do, just take your time. I'm still a poor pre-op (lol) so I don't mean to sound an expert. LOL So, take a deep leisurely breath, close your eyes and imagine a beautiful sunny blue sky, sprinkled with puffy white clouds, sweet song birds chirping, and think of something that gives you peace. Big hugs to you! Joanie

Hi Patricia, Please call your local Mental Health Clinic about your depression. If they don't take your insurance they will work with a sliding scale pay. I go once or twice a month to keep the demons and emotional issues from sabotaging my success. May God surround you with his light and love and lead you to renewed success. You are in my prayers. God Bless Janice

Hi Patricia! I know the first few months after WLS can be very hard! We lightweights (those with less pounds to lose), will lose weight at a slower pace. I hit my first plateau at 3 weeks post-op! Hang in there and follow your post-op diet! Expect to lose weight at a much slower pace than others. My doctor told me not to expect more than a 2lb a week loss. I'm now 7.5 months post-op and doing great with a loss of 71lbs and only 30lbs to make goal! Are you still on liquids?
