Hi All, I am back on the computer for the first time since a couple of days before surgery so here is the quick update. I had to be at the hospital for 6:00am on May 16. Surgery was at 7:30 and aside from a little nick of the old spleen which required some watching, went off well. Now that I am home the primary challenge is picking something up off the floor and turning over or getting up from bed due to the pain. The binder is itchy and I get nauseous on the protein drinks. I can do the fluid but am still working on the protein. My kids are due back on Thursday and I am going crazy without them. I wanted to say an unbelievable thank-you to everyone who has sent messages and best wishes. I wish I had the energy to respond to you all personally, but I think I'm tapped out for the moment. I want to send super strength prayers to everyone recovering and best wishes and patience to those waiting!

Dear Wendy, Good Luck tomorrow on your new 're-birthday'. It also happens to be my real birthday! I had my lap RNY on May 3rd and am feeling pretty good. I still have some minor pain that is pretty well controlled with pain meds. Please email me with any questions you may have after you're feeling better. Today is the first day I've felt well enough to sit at the computer for any length of time so please take it easy on yourself. The most important things to do post-op is walking. I can't stress that enough. Do your breathing exercises and take it easy on food intake. SLOW is definitely the key! Take your pain meds so your body won't be stressed and will heal faster. God Bless,
