Good Afternoon everyone!! I'm officially 2 months postop today! My plateau seems to have ended, thank goodness, though I've continued losing inches during it, the naughty thing lasted almost 2 weeks. I'm down 59 pounds from my consult date and 76 pounds from my discharge weight. The tissue damage from my bile leak seems to have finally healed as I am ALMOST pain free now. Thank GOD! Have a blessed day and hang in there pre-ops!! Mary RNY 4-21 5'10" 278/219/160-170goal

Wow.. I'm actually starting to feel like a person again.. I went back to work this last week, actually only on a partial release, but I made it through THREEE consecutive 12 hour shifts.. chasing babies.. My surgery was 7 weeks ago as of tomorrow.. but due to complications with my liver as a result of my gall bladder being removed..My recovery has been painful and very slow. I'm down 54 pounds and my BMI is down to 33.1.. YEAH!!I'm working my way back into working out.. though I'm quite weak.. have power lifted in the past few years.. and working with very low weights now due to stamina issues.. but at least I've been to the gym.. God bless all in this journey.. Mary 5'10 278/224/160ish.. RNY 4-21-03

Good Morning, thought I'd update on my progress. I am 6 weeks post up today and am down 51 pounds. I've reached my FIRST goal 2 weeks ahead of schedule! I wanted to be under 230, and last night i hit 227.. YEAHHHH.. My BMI is 33.5. Gosh, I wouldn't even qualify for surgery now. I'm slowly feeling better.. Still have pain where my bile leak was and the Doc said that could take 3-6 months to completely resolve.. ugh.. Anyway.. I'm slowly working my way back to work, so that's good. To all of you pre-ops.. stay on track and don't give up! God Bless us all.. Mary RNY 4-21 5'10" 278/227/160ish

thanks for acknowledging me mary, and for the advice. i didn't end up getting pizza afterall, (too chicken), but i screwed up just the same. i went to a local restaurant, Leona's (italian), and i got the shrimp scampi, which i have been tolerating very well since maybe week 4, anyway i'm such a little rebel cuz i ordered the potatoe wedges (fried) and a side salad, mind u i never eat more that 8 shrimp in 2 hours and call it a day, my family eats the rest. anyway i had to try one bite of potatoe wedge dipped in a small dallop of sour cream, then i ate one shrimp. well my pouch, we call it Benny, was like what in the heck is this and proceeded to rumble, gurgle and just ache in general for about the next 6 or 7 hours. that was very strange cuz usually if i eat something that doesn't agree with me (rarely) the ill effects only last 30 minutes. i don't know what the deal was last night but today i am being very, very cautious. thanks for the info and lets keep in touch. hey, what are u doing for protein supplementation? i was drinking everything and finally found myoplex low carb, it tastes like slimfast but i'd much rather drink something else. mary i'm such a bad girl! michele

Good Morning everyone!! Just an update.. I'm officially 4 weeks out in a couple of hours.. I'm down 41 pounds and a whoppin 36.75 inches!! The weight I can understand, this is a bit more than I typically lose during a hardcore "diet", but I do tend to lost a ton the first month or so. I really believe that the high weight loss was augmented by being so sick after surgery. HOWEVER>> the inches.. I'm VERY happy about. God bless to all where ever you are in this process. BTW: I've found that BOCA BURGERS (no bun) go down very well and they taste good and are a wonderful source of protien, 19g. I eat half of one with a tablespoon of cottage cheese. Have a wonderful day! Mary

Happy Sunday Everyone!! Just wanted to take a minute to update. My healing process is finally picking up! I'm 4 weeks out tomorrow and am down almost 40 pounds. My weight loss was increased I'm sure, due to my complications and being so very sick. For those who don't know.. my complications were from my gall bladder removal DURING RNY.. not my RNY. Anyway.. to those very new post ops (lol.. newer than me..) It WILL get better.. just *try* to be patient.. (not one of my strong suits). God bless! RNY 4-21-03 278/240/160 ish.. 5'9" Mary
