I just woke up... the scope went OK. I fell asleep as predicted and don't remember anything. My friend that took me said that they didn't dilate my stoma and didn't find anything remarkable. They used two big doses of Demerol and a dose of Versed... he said they only use propofol if people wake up under Versed because the recovery is harder. VERY frustrating to have no real findings!! I'm eating my first food in like 18 hours now, man, am I weak! Of course my throat is quite sore too. I doubt I'll be online later, so I'll see you tomorrow hopefully with more detailed news.

I have to have an endoscopic procedure next Tuesday at 11:15; the gastroenterologist is going to investigate my hiatal hernia of the esophagus and is going to check, and possibly dilate, my stoma. I'm a bit concerned about all of this and I'm really looking forward to it being over. That said, I'd be glad to hear from others who've had this combination of problems and how they've dealt with them. My gastroenterologist said it's possible to fix the hernia endoscopically but that it's quite risky and could damage the RNY. To me, that means, FIND A WAY TO LIVE WITH THE SYMPTOMS, most notably, acid reflux. I loved my seven months with acid reflux and would really like to get rid of that problem once and for all!
