Hi, this is an update on Carola. She is probably home by now. I spoke to her this morning and she was up puttering around her room, watering her plants and flowers and getting ready to take a shower. She is doing GREAT!!! No drainage tube or anything. She is even eating cream of wheat and drinking coffee. (Lucky Dog) She was getting cut loose today, just waiting for her hubby to come and pick her up. I guess this is my last post for her. It's been fun. Carola's angel,

Update on Carola - Carola called me at 5:00 am this morning. She is bored stiff. She is feeling pretty good though. She actually got up in the middle of the night (by herself) and plugged in her stereo. She will get her catheter out today so that she can do some walking. She said that she has been able to eat a few bites of cream of wheat, soup and jello, although she says they all suck:) She hates the Carnation Instant Breakfast. She said that it might be better if it was ice cold. She is going to ask them for some hot tea today. She is still getting lots and lots of flowers. Good thing she doesn't have a roommate, there is no room left in her room. I'll call her back later and post an update. Oh, yea, she is supposed to be cut loose tomorrow. Take care, Carola's angel,

Update on Carola - Hi, talked to Carola last night and this morning. Well, they came in and gave her a catheter. She was up so much that she wasn't getting any rest. She sounds good, just very groggy. She said that she took a couple of bites of cream of wheat. She has had some visiters, but keeps falling asleep while they're there:) She has tons of flowers. She said that they left her gall bladder intact. She is more uncomfortable than in pain. Hopefully, she'll be more alert the next time I talk to her. She says hi to all. Carola's angel,

Got off the phone to Carola a little while ago. She sounds great. A little hoarse, but in high spirits. NO Tubes and NO Catheter. The only thing holding her back from running all over the hospital is her IV. She didn't get any rest, was up all night using the rest room. (IV's will do that to a person) She is only getting ice chips. She is a little sore and glad to have a binder. I had called and called to no avail. Finally found out her phone was unplugged:) Now that that is working, she'll be on it all the time. I promised to call her back about 2:00 today, so I'll update more later. Carola's angel.

Good morning everyone. Well Carola made it through surgery. Her husband Jose called me about 9:30 last night. Her surgery was delayed about an hour, so she was in surgery between 2 1/2 & 3 hours. They were sending her to recovery when he called me. I have since called the hospital and was told by a nurse on her floor that she has already been up walking and was probably going to have something for breakfast. When they rang her room she didn't answer, so hopefully she is able to get some sleep. The nurse said that she did great and was doing good this morning. I'll check back with another update later. Ok, girl this is it. 7 hours and counting. I'm ready. Tell Jose to be ready to give me updates. You better take care and do what the doctor says! You can kill me afterwards:) Hurry up and get well, cuz I'll miss our daily morning phone calls. Now remember, as you're coming home, I'll be going in, so we won't be able to really chat until I get home. I luv ya buddy!
