Today is my 1 year anniversary of the Open RNY. I started out at 265 pounds and I am down to 141 pounds (a loss of 124 lbs). I feel wonderful and have not had any problems. I eat small portions and do not have a problem with anything. I keep my profile up to date if anyone would like to see it.

Hi Nicolette, I am very sorry to hear about your sister. Thanks for keeping it updated so we can learn from her experience. On the other hand congrats with your successful weight loss. Take care, Min
WLSFriends.com

Nicolette had her surgery today at Medical City of Dallas. She was originally scheduled for a laproscopic RNY, when the surgeon started the procedure he decided to proceed with the OPEN RNY instead because her liver was slightly enlarged and he couldn't see everything he needed to see. Her surgery lasted about 3 hours and she's doing ok tonight, she has become great friends with her morphine pca button. I am Nicolette's sister, and I had Open RNY almost two years ago and have gone from 300 lbs to 145 lbs. I think it's helped her a lot that I can tell her that I've been through it and that she will survive! I think that's the first thing most post-ops go through, the "Oh my God, what have I done to myself?" If anyone from the Dallas area would like to visit her, she's in room 668-B Medical City of Dallas, 7777 Forest Lane. Right now she's got her pain under control with the pca pump, her biggest complaint is that her mouth/lips are so dry and she's not allowed to even have a sip of water. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I will post again as soon as anything else comes up.
