Hi Janice: I too am having a hard time with my periods too. I am only 3 1/2 months post op and have lost 77 lbs since surgery and before surgery I lost 70 lbs.I am down 8 cloathing sizes now and am loosing alittle slower the last month. I am getting a lot more active and walking about 20 min a day now. Its been 3 months for me so far. I just called my internist to see what he thinks. I really dont know what to say except this is common from what I hear because of our fast weight loss.I see my surgeon in 2 weeks so I may have to ask him then. you may have to do the same. I hope this helped you. Sheryl OPen RNY July 22, 2002 516/453/377/160

Janice- i was ready your personal comments. I too had surgery w/ Dr. G on 2/11/02. How are you feeling? I feel like I am like you. I lost 22 pounds when I went to my first post op but at 4 weeks already at a plateau. I only lost 2 pounds the last 9 days! Keep me posted on your progress. Becky [email protected]

Hi~~ Just wanted to wish you ALL the best with your upcoming surgery. I'm 5 days post op and know the first couple of days are gonna be rough on you....in fact up until Saturday morning in the hospital, I couldn't believe I'd put myself thru such hell (nose tube, IV, etc). The soreness hasn't been a big issue for me yet---liquid or crushed ibuprofen seems to be working ok. My advice for anyone after surgery: as soon as the doc/nurses give you leave to walk, do as much of it as possible. It'll get you home quicker. Lord bless you and keep you as safe & comforable as possible.

Yay!! Your day is almost here! I understand the nervousness, I was very nervous too. Just remember that the discomfort is temporary and the weight loss is SO worth it!! You're in my thoughts! *hugs*

Hi. I'm not a cheerleader, but would you settle for a prayer warrior? I promise I will pray for you to have a successful surgery, an easy complication-free recovery and a healthy, happy new life ahead. Best of everything to you. Just do what the doc and nurses tell you to do. Hard as it may seem time, it's all for your own good. I too was scared to death. As I was being wheeled away, my best friend had her hand on me and was praying away asking God to take care of me. I gathered all the prayer warriors I could. I am convinced that it helped me thru. Let us know when you get home, your progress, etc. Love and prayers to you.
