Steve: YOU ARE DA MAN!!!! I am so happy for you. We as men are the minority here. I had My open July5, 2002. I have lost 300lbs. I FEEL GREAT!!!! Ok... Second let me share I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist, so I do have some post surgical expereince, and I run support group meeting in Cleveland One a week. Splint your incision when you cough, Take a small pillow lay if gently on your belly. Use your arms to pull the incision together and then COUGH... COUGH Loud and PROUD... Coughing is so important. Walking in between your potty breaks Not far but walk. at least around the house a couple times a day. Walking will prevent embolisis. And make SURE most important... DRINK YOUR WATER...... Good luck to you my brother, and welcome to your new life.....
