Hi Brian S! Congrats on having your surgery! I bet you feel relieved now. It's over and now you are on the other side and can join the ranks of the losers. Welcome, my friend!!! Happy RE-Birthday to you! From this day forward you life will change forever. Just try to take it easy and remember to sip, walk, deep breathe and cough. These first few days are rough, but I assure you they get better with each passing day. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayers for an uncomplicated, swift recovery. You are an official loser!! Wishing you much success in your weight-loss journey. Soft hugs to you today. God bless, DI from NJ - Lap RNY, 12/09/03

Many people do nothing about their weight other than to live with it and continue to ride a roller coaster of diets to try to get it off. It gets to a point where I felt I had to do more -- yes surgery is drastic -- expensive -- painful -- BUT nothing was happening any other way. I, too, have been much thinner and know what it is like to be pretty fit. I also plastered on weight when I quit smoking... not in 1 pound increments--it felt like 10 pounds at a time! I am proud of myself that I took a proactive approach -- that I recognized that I was NOT being successful and was only hurting myself more and more by staying soooo heavy and my health was only going to deterioriate as time went on. Best of luck with your lap procedure. AGAIN, be proud you are taking action -- not "giving up"... You still will work after you have your band-- on your diet and exercise... but it won't seem like an uphill battle -- I'm just starting to see since I just had mine!
