I am posting to let you all know how my first consult went. Dr. W. was really nice. He seemed very smart and competent. The first thing he did was try to talk me out of it. He said that I was so young (26) and that maybe I needed to try to do something else first. He suggested that I go to a nutritionist and try a diet plan because I have no co-morbidities at this time. I just told him- I don't feel like that is right for me. I really want this and have been researching it for over two years and that I know that this is what I want to do. I then asked him why should I have to be sick before I do this and that we both know that is where I am headed. He then said that I was right and that I don't have to wait. He said that because my BMI is 41 ( has to be over 40 to be approved w/o co-morbitities) that he would do it and that I should have no problem getting approval from Cariten. He did say that They will not approve LAP and that I would have to have it open, I already knew that and was ok with that. And he also said that Cariten was one of the hardest Ins. co.'s to deal with but that he would get me approved. I am kind of excited now, but I'm not letting myself get to excited until I have a surgery date and am approved! The nurse said that she would call and get my appointments for the psychologist, nutritionist and gall bladder ultrasound set up and call me today. I didn't get a call though. Oh well, guess I'm not the only patient they have!! Well, thanks for all the support and for caring! I really don't have tht many people that I can talk to about this and knowing that this group is here really helps!! Thanks again!! Rebekah in Clinton

I am so excited. I have no I dea what to expect on my first Consultation with Dr Watson.
