Hope you get better real soon. Guess you'll never be a drug addict. Those drug reactions can be really weird. Make sure you put this on your medical bracelet along with your type of surgery. 4 nurses, thats impressive. LOL

Vicky, Just wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are going out to you for continued healing. You hang in there and do what you need to do, and you will be back up on your feet in no time. Take care! {{HEALING HUGS}} Pam Spencer

She had an open RNY on Wed, the 19th and subsequently had a violent adverse reaction to morphine. (She'd never had it before so she didn't know it would do her like that). Then apparently, she went quite bonkers and ripped out all her tubes and tried to fight off 4 nurses to get a glass of water and in the fray, she tore the staples in her stomach which caused a rather nasty leak into her abdomen. That's why she had to have a second surgery on Saturday the 22nd. She's having to take IV antibiotics now because of the infection the leak caused but all in all, she's getting better. She's regaining her sense of humor, at least. She was up walking yesterday, which was an improvement and she thinks she might get to come home Monday, the 1st. Vicky wanted everyone to know that it was NOT her surgery that went badly, it was the morphine that caused the problem! And she thanks everyone for their prayers and good wishes.

Vicky, best wishes for your upcoming surgery. I had mine in November 2000, and I have never had a single regret. One thing that may help to remember is that the nervousness is over with when you wake up in the recovery room to your new life.
