6-5-02 Wow I am feeling great.... it feels good to be done with the first 100... I am not down 110. I have to work hard at it as I do not feel full when I feel I should and can eat nearly a normal size meal. I am following a modified Atkins as it is high protien low carbs....

Wow, I cant believe how long it has been since I have posted anything....And this is not good as I know I have gained so much strength from others postop stories. Well I am almost 7 weeks post op and have lost over 40 pounds, although I dont know how much as I dont have a scale that goes as high as I need it too... but this too shall pass very soon!!!! I just need to get to the 350 mark and I will never need a special scale again in my life.. actually I dont need a scale anyway but sometimes I just like to see how I am progressing. My clothes fit and feel great! I am at least one size smaller... I do have a few concerns though.. I know I am eating too much and I know this has to do with not working and being at home and being bored... so my New Years goal is to get out of this house and get my butt doing other things. I am definately one of those that CANNOT tolerate sugar..... sometimes I dont read a label and find out after the fact that it was a bit more sugar than I should have eaten and I get to sit upon the throne!!!! NOT FUN... I have found that I cannot tolerate milk on cereal first thing in the morning but I can drink milk later in the day. I have tried mexican foods but think the spices get me going too, (in more ways than one!). I can do a little soft taco from Taco Bell, but then again that is not Mexican food!!!! Well... my best wishes to all of you for this year regardless where you are in your journey! Pamela

Hi it is me, Pamela! 6 days post op! Feeling good. I just wanted to post an important message about an experience I had in the hospital that I hope to help anyone else not have to go through. Prior to surgery I was pretty much a sugar addict!!! I ate a lot of sugar every day. Well.... low and behold late on the day after surgery I start getting a headache... and day number three it wiped me out. I refused my pain medications thinking it was a narcotic headache. Then when my brain was a little clearer.. a big DUH came to mind.. I should have weaned myself from the sugar before surgery. All is well now, but I tell you it was hell!!!!

Hi everyone it is me!!! Just home from the hospital tonight. It is hard to believe I am on the otherside... I am very happy and the only way you tell that is on the inside at this point!! lol. I am sore for sure. Will write more about my experience later. Thank you to all that wrote with your support, it really does help. A special thanks to my angel Jan Kell.... she is such a wonderful person and inspirations to me... She knows how to keep the spirits high when spirits a bit low. She was a wonderful angel.. I recommend her!!! Keep in touch.....

*** ANGEL UPDATE *** Just got off the phone with Pammy and it was WONDERFUL to hear her voice :) Ya know the old saying - "all modesty goes out the window after surgery" - her's done got up and went !! LOL ! She needed to have some help cleaning up after a trip to the "powder room" soooo she rang for assistance and low and behold, a VERY good LQQKIN male nurse came to her aide. He asked if she would prefer a female and she smiled and said, "Hot D*** no, if it doesn't bother you, then it doesn't bother me" ! LOL ! She hasn't lost her sense of humor <G> Her revision (RNY) has gone well and Dr Clements (University of Alabama-Biringham) has been WONDERFUL! They tested for leakage this morning and everything came back negative ! Wooo Hooo :) Dr Clements is still treating her as though she has abdominal leaks just to be safe. She's pretty tired as it hasn't even been 24hrs since the surgery but she says she feels good. The abdominal pain is pretty intense when she gets out of bed but having been through this 10 yrs ago,(VBG) she knew what to expect. Please include her in your prayers and send her your well wishes :) God Bless you PAMMY and remember even though we are 3,000 miles apart I am still their with you ! I LOVE YOU PAMMY !
