a little tear...

Aug 09, 2011

As I read the blogs of others I get a little tear in my eye.  My brother in law (RIP) passed away earlier this year at the very young age of 33.  He was a wonderful, loving, talented, handsome guy... who weighed roughly 1000 lbs.  His body overtook him and ended his life.  I so wish we could have helped him get the medical help he desparately needed.  As a family we worried and researched options... there was no way to get him out of his house.  He lived far away and every time we would visit he was considerably larger.  Unfortunately he lived in a very small town, far away from the assistance he needed.  On our last visit with him in October of last year he was permanently in bed.  We went to his room and laughed and talked with him and my son played video games with him and it was just "normal" except he couldn't move.  When we cam home from that trip I started researching surgery for myself.  We knew that the end was inevitable for dear brother.  It makes me very sad for the loss of him in our lives.  He and my husband were very close and talked almost everyday.  It breaks my heart for him.  I truly wish that there was something we could have done.

I love to read about others success.  It just brings a tear to my eye that there are so many that don't succeed.
