As with many people here my battle with my weight has been on going for as long as I can remember. I was always the biggest girl in my class. Always the biggest cousin as the holiday's. I seemed to settle at a size 18 for years. I love horses and after I finished school I went to work traveling with show horses. Years later after my daughter was born I went up to a size 20. Stayed there until my husband and I divorced and then turned to food to get me through all the emotions that the divorce brought on. I went up to a size 24. In 2003 I met the most wonderful man and we had a son in 2004. However as my family grew so did my pant size...I was a size 28!. It didnt really seem to effect me until my yearly doctors visit came about in 2006. I saw on my file she wrote " Mob. Obes" underlined.....WOW. I was a one of those people they talk about. Talk about realitly check. SO I made up my mind to get the WLS. My best friend had done it the year before and look and felt amazing. So I went to my first meeting in May at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester. I was very overwhelmed. There was so many tests that needed to get done. Weight to loose. Not to mention this program leaves all the work up to you. You want this surgery you do all the work. SO it started. I made all my appts. and was well on my way then my gallbladder started to act up....talk about pain....it had to come out. The same surgeon that does the WLS did my gallbladder surgery. Very nice man. Just wish he could of done all of it that day. This program is slow...even after you do all your work. One one doctor does it at the HMHC@Manchester. SO I have my appt with him Dec 14th....cant wait! I hope the start of 2007 has big changes in it for me.
