I feel horrible ! I have been on and off OH like a stalker, but have yet to update or do anything productive to encourage the newbies or the veterans. Life moves so fast after surgery. I have lost about 80lbs total. I have been stable for about 8 months. I am currently talking to a plastic surgeon since I am past my 18 months and haven't lost a pound in 8 months. I am hoping to have a breast reduction and panniculectomy soon. I am dealing with the insurance company now. My goal is to blog regularly.

3 week post-opt I have lost 27lbs. I am so happy!

 I am 18 days post-op and I feel good. I missed my 2 week appointment because I had the flu. They didn't have another appointment for 2 weeks. I haven't exercised since walking the first week after surgery. Being sick with the flu hindered my exercise progression, but next week I will be back on track. I returned back to work at 7 days post-op and was out 3 days this week with the flu. I am so happy that surgery was a success. I feel like a change is coming, but to scared to speculate,

How can we make our support group great? What topics, dates, times would you like to chat on-line and/or meet face to face? I am open to any suggestions.

I am scheduled for surgery on Oct 12,2009. I am starting my 2 week high proteins diet tomorrow. I am trying not to be overly excited. This is my 3 surgery date. I don't want to get my hopes up and then meet disappointment again.

I feel like I have abandoned my OH family. I have been so down and out  since the 2nd surgery to remove the abscess that i haven't been on often. I now have a wound vac that is suppose to help close this enormous wound. The wound was 14x8x3 when I left the hospital on 8/13/09. I am trying not to focus on having the gastric by-pass surgery and keep my focus on healing. I am scheduled to return to work on 9/8/09. This has been a humbling experience.

  I went back to the hospital last night because I had a temperature 102. 6I was told that I had an infection pocket/abscess in the wound that is still open from surgery 6/23/09. The surgeon that preformed my surgery can careless about my well being. I have gone to his office seeking help for the drainage and smell. I have been to the ER twice and my PCP once. The hospital and my PCP recognized my pain and the presence of an infection placing me on antibiotics. Last night at the ER the surgeon had to cut open more of the wound to drain the infection. I stayed at the hospital until 5am from 7:30pm. After leaving from the hospital I had time to eat & shower. I had to be at pre-op at 8am. Without sleep I completed pre-op from 8-3. I then went to the surgeon's office where he proceeded to rip the packing from my incision and stuff a dry piece of gauze in my incision. He then told me me that is is ordering home health to take care of the wound. My gastric surgeon want to check on this wound on Aug 11 to make sure I am ready for surgery.

I have 2 more leader training classes before we are recognized as a support group.

I am going to drink more water and no soda.
