I had VSG on April 27 2010. I tried every diet known to man before this, except maybe the Cabbage Diet, but would only lose 20-30 lbs. and than regain more. Thus the cycle began and repeated over and over. I weighed 278 at my highest and got down to 182 at my lowest. I had been holding at about 188 for a year while i began training for a half marathon and ran two races at around this weight. I was fairly happy with my new weight, but really wanted to be down to 150ish. Running had become my primary focus and i could basically eat what i wanted- which included sweets and caloric drinks. I had reverted to my old habits, only with smaller portions and grazed all day. Yes, i was burning 1000 calories on my long runs but then i replaced those calories with reckless eating.
So, just when i was feeling smug with this new system of running and eating poorly but still maintaining, i had a knee injury that forced me to reduce my mileage. Unfortunately, my weight started to climb.
I am now at 204, which is 22.lbs over my lowest weight. I know that i need to go back to the original eating plan, so i am joining Back on Track Together group. I will need to log in and be accountable.
I would like to get down to 150 and maintain. I also have Osteoarthritis of the knee and this would help me with thst problem too.
I regret abusing my gift of a second chance, but i can't dwell on this because i have work t do.
