I cannot believe I am over a year out from revision.

I am one year and a month out, and 100 pounds down. I am sorry that i have not updated. I had a lot of complications, but am finally doing well. If anyone has any questions for me, I will be more then happy to respond. I had a leak within the first week, that led to an abscess that had to be surgically cleaned out. Then my staples clumped inside of my pouch and had to be removed endoscopically. and then I had an ulcer. I went home with a feeding tube, after my original month stay, for a little while, and then had to have another one surgically placed to help heal the ulcer. I had that one from Aug 2012 until Feb 2013. Now I am looking at plastic surgery for all of my loose skin. I am looking forward to the end of surgeries. I am happy to be back to work for now, even if it is on a limited basis :)

I got my date last week, and then was told that insurance was not sure if they were going to cover it or not. That the information they gave the Drs office was incorrect. So they submitted everything last Fri. and within 4 hours I was approved!! So it is official, I will be having my revision on April 3. I am nervous and excited all at the same time. I have started a group on Face Book called Bariatric Buddies, to be used as a virtual support group, and so far, it is very small. I am hoping that it will grow. I want to take my laptop with me to the Hospital, and am hoping to have people to chat with, when I am feeling up to it, and get the support I know I will need. This time around I am a lot more afraid then i was the first time. But I know it is something I need, and will make things better in the future :)

I got everything done that I needed to, and now am just waiting on my surgery date. I was told today, that I should get that on Thurs or Friday this week. I am just hoping that it is before the time that the insurance has agreed to it for, and soon enough, for everone to be happy. My back surgeon said ASAP, so, hoping to have it before April. We will see what the end of this week will bring :)

I have found a surgeon finally that will listen to me, that yes, there was a problem with my first surgery. I lost just over 100 pounds, and then gained 60 back almost overnight. I had still been exercising and eating like I had been tought and could not understand it. Everyone I saw, kept saying it had to be compliance, and that I did something along the way. My new surgeon has found that my stoma is 2x the size that it should be, and that it was a healing error. I have done everystep that I am supposed to, and am now waiting for my surgery date. I need to have it ASAP, because unfortunately, I had to have back surgery for a slipped disc, on Dec15, 2011, and the back surgeon, said we had to find someont to help with the weight, That is when I found Dr. Huse. If I do not loose, I am looking at having a messed up back, that may not be able to be repaired, the next time a disc slips. i will do everything I can to prevent that.
I am in the process of feeling a bit excited again, but, since this has to happen, no matter what, I am just praying for it to work right this time, and to see the same results as others I know who have gone through the journey. I would love to have an angel, if they still have those on here. I had stopped coming to this website, because I felt like a failure, Now i feel like I am being reborn again. If anyone has any words of advice, I would love to hear them. I went to my first Support Group, for this Hospital, and just loved it. The people are amazing :) I will try to be better at updating my profile this time :)

WOW!!!! One year post op today..:) I can't believe it. I got past my plateau to loose 3 more pounds..to turn around and get back on it again. Very frustrating right now. But I am also trying to get my business going so have been under a lot of stress. I think I need to get back to basics and back to counting protein. I have not been planning out my days like I used to..but I am still keeping my eating journal...trying to keep on track. Congrats to everyone else who hit a year today...it is our day to celebrate..:)

Wow...I am now almost a year out of surgery. Just less then a month off..:) I am at a frustrating time...in the middle of a plateau..that is lsting forever. I hit 100 pounds lost..but had been a pound to 2 pounds away for almost 4 months. My dietician and I are working on changing things and getting them jump started...we hope..I am exercising a lot an hoping that helps as well..to at least get the inches going again. I am hoping to spend some more time on here and maybe join in some of the chats. I finally found a support group here and am very happy..because I was in much need of it. I think that the one thing that can help me the best right now..is support from others that are here and have been here..;) Thanks to those who have sent me support in the past.
Oh I almost forgot...my big new thing that I have been doing...is finally getting my massage theraphy business going. I have gotten my strenght back up and am getting up and running..:) If you are ever in Indiana...let me know..:)

i am now almost 2 weeks post-op. It has been a frustrating week in that I cannot get around much. I have never had any surgery before...so the not being able to get around to well is hard on me. I am coping though...getting through it. I am not truly hungry at all..but do seem to "think" that i want things when I see them...trying to get past that...it is a lot easier since I am not hungry..then if I would be. Husband had to go to work tonight nd I am home alone..since my daughter is at a friends house. Still a bit hard since I am not getting around as well...counting the days til Tuesday and I can get my staples out. I should be able to move more then..thank goodness..:) I cannot wait to see my surgeon too and see how well I am doing.
Guess that is it on my update for now...maybe come back and update soon. Hurts to sit up with my laptop too long.

I got my surgery date a couple weeks ago..it was for Sept.9th. I was happy and upset...since my daughter is starting 1st grade in a new school on August 27. I was really hoping to have my surgery before then..so that we did not have to pull her out..since the Hospital is about 3 and a half hours from here. I called the Surgeons office back last week to make sure that I had everything correct..times etc. And I am glad that I did. the surgeon works out of 2 different Hospitals...and my insurance only covers one...and I was scheduled for the wrong one. I got a new date..and I was sooo happy. it is for August 11th.:) Plus now my daughter does not have to miss any school...thank goodness..:)

Drs office called today to tell me I was denied...due to not enough history. Need 18 months followed monthly by my PCP....guess 10 years tri monthly is not enough...go figure. I am meeting with my PCP..tomorrow..and sending an appeal letter in by end of next week. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.
