I have been overweight since I was a small child. I have successfully lost hundreds of pounds over the years only to gain it back and a bit more. I haven't gone through any period of time since I was 12 or 13 that weight wasn't a daily thought. I am 44 years old and now have some pretty tough to live with health issues due to my weight. I take more medication than my 74 year old mother. My divorce left me with 4 children and more than I could handle at the time. I have been steadily gaining weight for years. I started researching WLS about 2 years ago. I Actively started persuing it about 18 months ago. My surgery is scheduled for 12/26/06 and I can't wait. My children are completely supportive and my surgeon and other doctors have worked very well together to help me get this done. It is hard to put in to words my feelings right now. I am in the surgery zone.
