I have made yet another important decision yesterday about my Weight Loss Journey.  I have been doing some research and decided that I may need to go another route for WLS.  After spending a night doing research, I believe that "DS" is the surgery I should have.  DS seems to have the best results out of all three surgeries(Lap-Band, GB, DS).  So now I have made a appointment to go to Dr. Dennis Smith's informational seminar on Aug. 2nd in Marietta.  Also, I have been in communication with a great young lady.  Anne, thank you for all the useful info.  Can't wait to meet you in August!

The deciding factor and the most important to me was not really having to worry about weight-gain.  You are free to eat almost normal after having surgery and no-dumping!  I read something yesterday that made the decision definite for me.  A lady had in a message,"I am actually under my goal weight. I have to actually eat to keep from being so underweight!"  Underweight is a problem that I would LLLOOVVEEE to have.  That right there SOLD ME!!!

Well today, I was told by the surgical coordinator that my package had been received and it's in review with the surgeon.  My PCP called me as well and told me that all my necessary clearances were ready to be picked up and faxed to Dr. Duncan's office.  I guess it's official before the "real" official.  Another step closer to "THE DATE".  I made an appointment with the nutritionist/exercise class, Stacy.  My appointment with her is Wednesday, July 25th at 10am for 3 and half hours.  Well, it all cost $100, so I guess it's well worth it.

Well surgical coordinator emailed me back today.  She told me to fax over my letter of necessity to her personally and she will add it to my packet.  Again, I have been reading profiles today and wishing I could be getting ready to get on the table next week.  I am tired of being my shape and size.  It is almost depressing sometimes.  That's all for today.....ready for my change to come.

I am sitting in a hotel room in Boston and decided it's officially time to start this journey.  I just finished typing my personal letter of medical necessity to the insurance company.  I sent a email to my surgical coordinator to see if they received my registration packet that needed to be sent in before they start anything with you.  I also asked her whether I can send in my letter I just typed up to accompany my packet they send to the insurance company.  As I have read on many other's experiences...this seems to be the MOST IMPORTANT PART!  I am really scared about this.  Anyone who reads this, PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!  My insurance company is Premera Blue Cross and they say that Bariatric procedures are exclusions in my insurance plan, but when I send in my request for approval, it will be sent to a medical reveiewer for medical necessity.  WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
