Hello world! The name's Abby. I'm 24 years young, married to the love of my life, and the mother of a vivacious 16-month-old named Nataleigh.
I've struggled with my weight for the majority of my adult life and began considering weight-loss surgery as an option to aid me in my weight-loss endeavor after having my daughter in December of 2007.
After much research and thought I began the process of being approved for WLS through my insurance company in September of 2008. I've selected the Roux-En-Y procedure as it appears to be the gold standard of weight-loss surgeries. I considered getting the Lap-Band instead, but after thoroughly researching the different procedures available I decided that the RNY Gastric Bypass would be much more beneficial to me and my lifestyle.
After jumping through many hoops and impatiently playing the waiting game I have finally been approved! My surgery date is set for 04/13/2009!
