Pregnancy and bariatric surgery don't mix

Well I went for my first doctor appointment today hoping to get a referral for bariatric surgery but was discouraged when I was told by the doctor that if I want to start a family 'pregnancy and bariatric surgery don't mix'. Even thought I am considered 'morbidy obese' on the chart my doctor said that I would get turned down if they found out I was planning on trying to get pregnant.
