I am 17 years old. I have battled my weight since the day I was born. I have been mocked made fun of, had food thrown at me every school year. Before having my operation on June 25, 2007, I weighed 247 pounds and am 5"9. I was always told I have a beautiful face, and the smarts to be a successful attorney, but NOTHING else. I come off as VEry confident but inside I cried every night. I am thankful for my surgery. I am one out of 24 kids in the ocuntry to be wligable to have the surgery as an adolescent. My BMI was 36 but I had high blood pressure, high choloestral and very high markers for blood disease which are all genetic.
IU had my surgery done in COlumbian Presbyterian Hospital in New York. MY doctor and his team were impeccable and had amazing bed side manner from the day I walked into his office.
