Long Time No Hear

Apr 29, 2012

Well it's been a long ride, I have gained some weight back and I am currently in the process of taking it back off... But I can do this. Life threw me a curve ball but it's how you react to the curve ball that matters right. Back on track eating healthy and getting a regular vitamin regimin underway. Let's see how this goes..

Catching Up !!

Jun 24, 2009

Well, I haven't been on in a while so thought I would catch you up on what I have been doing:

College - After taking some time off to have a life, kids, and get married I decided after loosing over 150lbs that I wanted to make a change in my life for the better so I decided to start college again this summer.  Let me tell you, man this was a lot easier when I was younger. I am not used to staying up studying all night till the late hours and then getting up the next day at the crack of dawn and getting ready to go to work! That I must say has been the biggest challenge for me as of late! I am however making an A so far in all THREE classes so that is good.... After goofing off before when I was younger in school I need those A's to boost a REALLY LOW GPA !!!!

Weight Loss -- It has really slowed down these last couple of months. I am still averaging about 8-10lbs a month loss, but it simply just isn't falling off like before. Now I am really having to work at it. I started over this week back to the basiscs and I am tracking my protein and water and vitamin intake religiously so that I can see the difference and get remotivated. I haven't been to a support group in two months and that will change in July. I need them to stay motivated and get back on track. I am so close to my first goal which was a weight loss of 200lbs (Double Century Club) and I know that I can do it. I am only about 23lbs away and then my ultimate goal after that will be to loose another 20lbs and then I will complete my journey and start scraping and saving every penny I can for plastics -- at least on my arms if nothing else.

Kids are doing great and enjoying the summer. I am hoping to get to take them to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio to see an old friend in July but we will see how the budget holds out! Matthew is getting braces so that might put the kybosh on going on another trip this summer, but who really knows!

Kindergarten Graduation

Jun 03, 2009

Well it's official -- the last of my little ones graduated kindergarten this week. Man, was that a happy and sad feeling all at the same time. We are looking forward to the summer though and getting to hang out as a family and spend some time just being us! Here's some pictures of the great day!

5 Months Now @ 254lbs --- AMAZING !!

May 08, 2009

Amazing that I got here and amazing that I am putting my weight in a subject line -- before my surgery I would have never done that. It is amazing to me all the things that have changed and gotten better as the weight has been falling off. I weighed today and I was down to 254 and I bought a size 18 jeans today and they buttoned so I thought hey why not update everyone.

School starts for me in two weeks, so excited about that --- and hey I got my smile back! :)

Another MAJOR Life Change -- For the Good !!

Apr 22, 2009

As if I didn't have enough going on with me -- first the weight loss surgery and then all the strictures and then the ulcer but I am confident that is all behind me now...hopefully -----so guess what???? I enrolled in college today! (well actually yesterday but I paid for it today!) I am going to Community College to get my Associates Degree in Accounting and will transfer to University of Houston next year to get my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and minor in Business Management. I have already completed quite a few college courses/hours so this is just the next journey to making a good life for me and my boys! Can't wait till class starts in June. I will keep you all posted on how I do so pray for me that I can handle this in addition to the other stuff and that I make good grades -- need A's but I guess a B wouldn't be too bad.

Healing, Thanks for the Prayers !

Apr 12, 2009

Thanks to all those that have been PM'ing and sending emails. My stricture repair went great and after the EGD with dialation I am feeling much better. Was a little sore that day, but have moved on and I am happy to report that I ATE !!! I know right -- what a wonderful feeling.

Yesterday I went to help my mother with her garage sale -- cleaning out all my kids junk! And then went to work and put in some hours to make up for missing a day getting my strictures taken care of. So hopefully my paycheck will start getting back to normal once again -- wouldn't that be great?

Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter!  Going to the in-law's for a dinner and then stopping by my mother's house as she had something that she wanted to give the kids and then home to get ready to go to work!

Strictures Again?

Apr 07, 2009

Well, seems that not only am I the Queen of the Strictures but now on top of all of that I have an ulcer that has developed as well. Man, I seem to have all the luck right? Going back in on Thursday to have the strictures fixed and have a prescription for the ulcer that I need to start taking IMMEDIATELY! Do I regret having my surgery – yeah I know that’s on every pre-op’s mind that is reading this but the answer is simple – HELL NO!! I have already lost over 115lbs since surgery and total of 150lbs since my journey began so no I don’t regret it one bit. God doesn’t give you more than you can handle is what people tell me so I just look to the bright side of things, at least this is something that they can fix—might be painful now but in a year I will look back on this and laugh that I ever was really worried and be in awe of how far I have come and the obstacles that I overcame to get my happy ending!

Size 18/20 And Man It's Amazing!

Mar 27, 2009

A few friends and I went out after a local support group meeting the other night and I just thought I would document how far I have come. The outfit is a size 18/20 and I began in a size 34/36 so man that progress is amazing to me! For once I can shop in a normal store, not a specialty store and that feeling is amazing.  My knees don't hurt anymore and I am doing way more with my kids then I did before surgery -ie, rodeo and the rides at rodeo, walking and taking them to the park without dreading it. This is an amazing tool! I will update more later on... thanks for reading!

Just wanted to say thank you to Sarah for helping me get the side by side pictures as I am not very good when it comes to that sort of thing -- I appreciate all of your technical expertise and friendship! You rock! Thanks again!
