I've been fat most of my life. I was raised in an over-weight family so the concept of diet was never pushed on me. Now my family members are paying with their health and I have made the decision not to go down that road. My father died in his 40's leaving me (17 at the time) and my two younger 1/2 brothers (3 & 1 at the time) behind. My mother has many health issues related to her weight.
Because of all these factors - I have decided on the RNY WLS. I have two young children (3 & 1) and a loving husband. I want to be around to see my children grow up. I want to feel like a sexy wife again. I want to be healthy and feel happy again. I feel like I have been existing (not living) for the last 5 years and the weight has been keeping me dormant. I am very excited that my surgery is coming up. I am a little scared to have surgery but I've had gallbladder surgery and 2 C-sections so I am sure I will be fine.
