Onderland!

Apr 21, 2012

April 21st, 2012 -  Wednesday was a huge day for me.   I woke up with a sense of dread and excitement at the same time.    I had court at 9am for my divorce to be final.   I don't think anyone is ever happy to have a marriage end, so I was sad and feeling like a failure. Especially because my children are so young.   I was also looking forward to having the closure of the divorce being final though.

I've been trying not to weigh everyday, because it's driving me crazy.   I knew I was so close to having a 1 in front of my weight.   I promised myself I wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't make it.

BUT I DID!

1 month post op from sleeve surgery

Mar 31, 2012

April 1st, 2012 - This month has went by so fast!   I had my check up Friday.  Everything looked great.  I'm down 19 pounds from my preop appointment.   I hit a 2 week stall at 11 days post op.  Talk about discouraging!   I was on liquids and not losing weight!   I've lost 6 pounds in 3 days though, so it all equals out in the long run.

I've been walking on lunch break and got the clear Friday to start lifting weights, etc.    Last year I got into Yoga & Pilates.  I had knee surgery in May and I'm really just now able to squat down without my knee swelling for days afterwards.

My divorce will be final in April 18th.   I never dreamed I would be a single of Mom of a 2 and a 4 year old.  Once my trust in broken though, there's no going back.

I got cleared to eat solid foods also!  I was so excited.   Until I tried some grilled chicken.   My mind is ready for food, but my tummy isn't.  I hurt for an hour after I ate.    I'm taking it slow......a couple more weeks on soft foods won't kill me.

Here's a pic from yesterday compared to 6 days post op.   I swear I do own more than one shirt lol.

Bye Bye Band, Hello Sleeve!

Mar 06, 2012

March 7th, 2011

I had my band removed on Feb 28th.   I had lots of scar tissue and my band had actually slipped!    Surgery lasted almost two hours.  I woke up hurting pretty bad.  I think it gas pains.   Today I'm one week post op.   I doing really good.   I'm still getting my strength back, but I thik that's pretty normal after surgery.   I was so shocked when I stepped on the scales this morning and realized I have lost 10 pounds!   I weighed 223.6 the morning of surgery and I weigh 213.6 this morning.
Doing the liquid diet has been really easy.   I've not felt the first hunger pain since surgery.   It's such a wonderful feeling!
I totally forgot to take a pre-op picture.   Here's what I looked like yesterday!     I have a feeling a much smaller relfection is going to be looking back at me soon!   Loving my sleeve!

February 13th, 2012

Feb 13, 2012

I can't believe its been almost a year and half since I've updated!   My band decided to go crazy.  I don't know what happened.  I went to get an adjustment in July and it was discovered my esophagus was dilated.  I've been almost completely unfilled since then.   I've tried my best not to gain much weight, but I have.   This morning I weighed 223.
I'm also in the middle of a divorce, but I won't bore you with those details.

February 28th I'm revising to the sleeve.  If it had been out 7 years ago I'm pretty sure I would have chosen it over the band.   I'm still a self pay.  This time I borrowed from my 401k.  I'd rather work until I 90 than gain all my weight back.

I also borrowed enough for plastic surgery once I get to to goal weight.

My babies are growing up way too fast.   Noah turned 2 a couple of weeks ago, and Hannah turned 4 today!  They keep me on my toes!

I'm excited to continue my weight loss journey.  I'm sad that my band didn't take me all the way there, but I had a pretty good run with it while it worked.

Oct 15, 2010

2 days until my 31st B-day!   Hard to believe I was only 25 when I got my band.   Life has been crazy and great.   Having two kids and being a full time working Mom keeps me very busy.   Hannah is 2.5 and so fun.    Noah is 8 months old and just started crawling this week.

Obviously I'm having trouble finding time to exercise.   The company I work for just opend up on site gyms.   I'm hoping once Noah starts sleeping a little better I can get up an hour earlier and work out before work starts.   I weaned him from breastfeeding 2 months ago.    I'm missing being able to eat those extra calories.    I'm still up a few pounds from being on vacation at the beach.    I weighed this morning and I was 201.  I HATE being above 200, but I know it's just a temporary rise.

I'm really starting to research plastics.   I don't know how we will afford it, but right now I'm getting estimates and finding dr.s that I like.

I'll try to add pictures from vacation later.

Noah is here!

Feb 22, 2010

Feb 22, 2010 - Noah Thomas Campbell was born on January 29Th at 3:56pm.   He weighed 7lbs and 3oz and was 18 inches long.   He swallowed amniotic fluid and had trouble breathing.    I didn't get to hold him until he was about 4 hours old and then it was only for a few minutes.  He was getting ready to be transferred to another hospital.

He was born in the middle of a snow storm.  The ambulance couldn't get him the hospital they had planned on.   He ended up going to a university hospital.  The neonatologist called me once he got there.   He told me he was doing much better with his breathing and didn't need to be put on CPAP after all.   Then he asked me if I had noticed the extra skin on Noah's neck.  I hadn't.   He told me that is a marker for downs syndrome, although he didn't think Noah had that.   He did say he would need genetic testing just to make sure that everything was O.K.

So I spent the night trying to wrap my head around the idea that my son "may" have something wrong with him.  At 8 that morning my MIL called and told my hubby that his Dad had passed away in his sleep.    Both his Mom and Dad had spent weeks in separate hospitals and had just recently gotten out.   This was pretty unexpected though.  To make matters worse Tom couldn't get home to be with his Mom because we had about 8 inches of snow and the roads hadn't been cleared yet.

To say it's been a rough month is an understatement.  On Jan 10 MIL went in the hospital.  On Jan 18Th FIL went in a different hospital.  Tom is an only child too.   On Jan 23rd I had to go on bed rest due to high blood pressure.   I moved in with my parents so they could help me with Hannah, since Tom was taking care of his parents.
Noah was born Jan 29Th, My FIL passed away 12 hours later on the 30Th.   Noah underwent every test in the world during his 4 days in the NICU.  We got to bring him home on Feb 2ND, the same day as my FIL receiving friends and funeral.
We got to spend the next 8 nights at home.    On Feb 10Th Noah turned blue on us.   He had RSV and ended up being admitted to children's hospital.  We spent the next 8 nights there.    We got to come home on the 18Th.  Hopefully we are here for good.

On a brighter side, the hospital food diet has done wonders for me.   I weigh 193.5 pounds.  FINALLY IN THE 100's!!!!!!!

Hannah is loving her baby brother.   So far she hasn't been jealous of him.  She's only pinched him once, so I consider that a success lol.   All of Noah's tests turned out normal!

Here's some pictures.

Happy New Year

Dec 31, 2009

January 1st , 2010 -   I can't believe another year has past already!    I'm 34 weeks pregnant today and feeling it lol.    This morning I weighed 221.5.   The after I found out I was pregnant I weighed 216.5.  I'm very pleased with only gaining 5 pounds.   I'm sure I'll gain about 10 more before baby boy makes an appearance though.   Last time I really started gaining the weight the last month.

We still haven't decided on a name.    Hopefully by the time he is year old we will agree on something lol.

I can't say I'm not concerned with how hard it's going to be having two children.    I have Hannah so spoiled, she thinks that I should stop what ever I'm doing and pick her up.    I'm sure it will be a big adjustment on all of us.    We will do fine though!

It's a boy!

Oct 26, 2009

Oct 25th 2009 - We for sure are having a boy.  I'm 24 weeks now.   During the 20 week ultrasound everything looked great.
I still haven't gained any weight.   I went to the Dr. today (broncitius and a sinus infection) and I weighed 210.   As long as baby boy is growing great I don't care if I gain a pound.  It would be great to be in the 100's after delievery!

15 weeks already!

Aug 21, 2009

August 21st, 2009 - This pregnancy is flying by!  I guess because I'm so busy with Hannah lol.   I'm feeling pretty good.  My morning sickness went away at around 10 weeks.  I'm tired, but that's probably because Hannah still doesn't sleep through the night.   I had an ultrasound last week and although it's too soon to be 100% sure, it appears we are having a boy!   I haven't gained any weight yet.  I'm still down a few pounds.  The morning after I found out I was pregnant I weighed 216.   This morning I weighed 207.5.  It seems that I'm always hungry.  I'll probably end up gaining more than I did with the last pregnancy.   We've not decided on names yet.   I'm sure that will be a battle lol.
